Benefits from Multi-Platform + ideas

I have only done 1 game using Multi-Platform, Mass Effected 3 for PC/PS2/MBOX. I was wondering what the real benefit is from doing that? I see it costs more, that makes sense, but I am a bit disappointed with it not showing 3 copies of the game, i.e. how sales are doing for each system. On top of that, before i got off the game, it had sold 1.7M copies, not bad but Mass Effected 2 sold that much on just the PC. So my question again, what are the benefits from doing that besides the idea of having it on multiple systems at once instead of spamming your game history with the same game 3 times in a row?

Ideas:

  1. Make Multi-Platform be worth it, dont like it be a way to play it safe and make tons of money but clearly selling for 3 systems should show that it sells more then just for one.

  2. When developing for more than one system, let it show how each version is doing on those systems, if I want to see how well it did overall I can look at my game history, or show the total once the game is off the market like it does already, maybe even showing a break down of how each system did.

Signing this. It would be nice to see some results from making multi platform game. And to be able see some results at least at the end repot for that game and in game history. Space for it is there enough.

costs more, develops longer, and you get more money. apart of that, haven’t seen anything else that would be different from one platform.

I actually did not recognize any difference between moeny from exclusive game and multi one … dont know, its hard to tell

I would also like some confirmation as to the benefits of multiplatform. The only benefit I’ve confirmed in my own play is that it lets you harvest hints from 3 different consoles at once, at the cost of greater risk in the games you’re making (because they’re compared against the market standards of multiple consoles, so a mismatch on one will lower the rating for all).
