I suggest dealing with the incorrect folder names first as they could be preventing CheatMod from loading. Go to this thread and scroll down to “I get an error saying the game ‘could not load mod one of the scripts’” for instructions:

removing the-master has made other mods stopped working, and cheat mod still does not work

to answer the original question: There is no beta version anymore, if a mod tells you to use the beta version then those instructions are outdated.
