It would be pretty awesome if releasing particularly awesome games for a given platform could alter it’s market share or even alter the outcomes of the console wars. What if someone had released a blockbuster title or two for the Dreamcast, would Nintendo end up pushed out of the US Market after the gamecube tanked?
It would just be cool if this whole aspect was a bit less linear.
Also, I’ve noticed that it’s pretty ‘easy mode’ to just focus on PC titles, exclusively without having to bother with consoles. I’m not saying that shouldn’t be possible but I don’t think it accurately represents the restrictions to the PC market. Maybe give the PC a module ‘sweet spot’, that represents the delicate balance PC developers have to consider in developing their titles? Which is to say, like, a system requirement threshold. Graphics too far ahead of their time? Only a few can play it. That ‘sweet spot’ would naturally need to move as the procession of the console generations marched on, but you get the idea.
Great game, though. Can’t stop playing.
Also, thank you for reminding me, in the most hilarious possible way, to name my games!
