All My Save Files are Gone?

I got the game on Steam 2-3 days ago. I was getting far in the game and I had around 100m credits and full team of experienced workers. I just published a great game and I saved a short while after. When I opened up the game ALL OF MY SAVE FILES WERE GONE. I was back in the garage and at the tutorial. I tried looking for the files by going to Local Disk C/Users/Default/AppData/Local. According to what I’ve read, I should have found a lot of folders in Local, but I only found Microsoft, Microsoft Help, and Temp. I have no idea what to do and I was soooo mad, but now I’m just depressed :’(. I really REALLY need help

If you have it on steam is not on C/Users/Default/AppData/Local !
It´s on C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\Your ID\239820\remote

Heya,

Have you turned Steam Cloud on and off to let your save games resync?

  1. In your Steam Library, right-click on Game Dev Tycoon and select “Properties.”
  2. Click the “Updates” tab.
  3. Uncheck “Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for Game Dev Tycoon.”
  4. Click “Close.”

And then after you click close do it again to turn it back on.

If that does not help please check the following folders and check if your save games are located within. They will be called “file__0.localstorage” and “file__0.localstorage-journal”;

Save Game Locations for both Steam Supported OS

On Windows 8 and Under:
C:/Users/YOURUSER/Appdata/Local/Game Dev Tycoon - Steam/Local Storage/
where YOURUSER is your Windows user name.

To View the App Data folder please allow viewing of Hidden Files and Folder;
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows7/show-hidden-files

On Mac:
~/Library/Application Support/{app}/Local Storage

And then navigate to the Steam folder and check for files called “General” and “slot_1” Etc;

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\Your ID\239820\remote
(Your path may be slightly different if you did not install in the default location)

Thank you so much Charlie!!
resyncing worked and I got my old save back. I was so worried I’d have to start from scratch all over again. You really helped me out, so thanks :smiley:

Thanks MigzDK too, I found my save files :slight_smile:
