About the Piracy of the Game

Hello,

I just read the Blog entry about the Priacy and the Lack of People understanding what the game tried to say them. I just heard about the game 2-3Days ago. At this time i saw the game as a Copycat of “Game Dev Story” + some cool new features. I still see it this way but i dont have a problem with that as long as it is good. Then i was interrested about the game how it’s gameplay is and how it is Different from the other game. I didn’t saw it on steam what suprised me. then i Checked some Sharesites. I pirated the game to Check the game since no Company even thinks about a Demo. I Played about 1-2Hours and then i saw the News of “GameOne” stating that 93,6 Percent is pirated. I was Shocked about that high Number. And i felt some sort of need to Justify my Download but i guess that this is something that, most of the 93,6%, have and there is always a reason. So i came here to say sorry and that the self publishing of a “Priated” version and even going to send the message of how it feels for the Producers of games in the game it self is just GENIUS! reminded me of games like Serious Sam where the enemy was unkillable at a certin Point in the game. And would like to see more often that type of Protection of games. In my opinion the morelikly it will get that you cant beat the game or something does not work in the game… the more likely it will get that Copied Versions will be gone or degraded to that what was long forgoten… the Demo.

I hope that Green Heart reads this and to everybody else what do you think about Protecting the games with gameplay changes etc. ?

(i guess there a many errors in there but thats as good as it gets from me so dont point them out. Thanks!)

There is a demo: http://www.greenheartgames.com/game-dev-tycoon-downloads/

I know… now. but find me a demo of the Newest AAA titles like Far Cry 3, Bioshock Infinite etc

I know. I think I read somewhere that they found out that releasing a game without a demo leads to more sales in many cases.

i can imagine that but it also leads, in my opinion, to Piracy. Of Course it wouldn’t be done with just demo’s but a group of Gamer who want to know how the game is check the demo if they like it they buy when not they dont…

I found the article about it:

Schell went on to assert that the best way to increase sales is to
tease gamers with a trailer, and then to make sure there is absolutely
no way the game can be tried out unless they buy a full version. As he
said, “The thing is, with no demo, you’ve gotta buy it if you want to
try it.”

Im not going to say im innocent of pirating games. But if a game is worth buying I ALWAYS support the developer. Especially indie developed games. I am finding indie developers are doing better and more original games than big developers lately.

Anyone who pirates games this cheap is just an ass IMO.
