First of all, I would like to apologize if I put this in the wrong section, but I couldn’t decide if I should put this in the bug section or just in general about the game.
Now, on to the issue. Whenever I download the demo, my Norton antivirus scans it, tells me it isn’t safe, and deletes it instantly. I don’t know what to do about this, and I’m worried that if I purchase the full game the same thing will happen. Any help would be appreciated.
Same here. I did some digging and saw that this was due to a low reputation of the software and that the developer(s) of the game is a blank in the file. There is also no known community usage with this game (probably because of this problem you and I have been having).
Norton is very (or overly) cautious when it comes to potentially infected downloads and thus will destroy anything that may resemble a virus, worm, trojan, etc (although ransomware and other malware can completely sidestep Norton, so I always have the free version of MalwareBytes running and updated). You can do one of two things: wait for more people with Norton to download the game or turn off your anti-virus (which Norton and other computer protection software wouldn’t recommend). You could try to turn off Norton to install the game, then turn it on, but I don’t know how that will go, especially since Norton does routine background scans that could potentially wipe out the game while you’re playing it if you turn it back on just before playing.
I’m unsure if other anti-virus programs have problems with this, or if it’s just Norton.
Another thing you could do is wait for the game to be Greenlighted by Steam (however long that’ll take) and download it there. At least on Steam you don’t need a credit card, you can just go to the nearest GameStop or Walmart (or any other store that sells game cards) and get $20 or $50 cards, put in the code on the Steam app on your smartphone or computer. At least with Steam, you shouldn’t have any problems with Norton or any other anti-virus programs.
Alright, thank you for your help. I’ll try messing around with norton a bit more to see if I can get it to work, but if that doesn’t work I’ll wait for the steam release. Thanks.
Could someone post the details of what it is classified as? I want to report this to Norton.
Same thing has been happening to me - Norton classifies it as “WS.Reputation.1”
I’ve contacted Norton about this.
From Norton:
Upon further analysis and investigation we have verified your
submission and as such this detection will be removed from our
products. The updated detection will be distributed in the next set of virus
definitions, available via LiveUpdate or from our website at
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/defs.download.html
It’s all good. the demo is safe.
When I downloaded the full game, Norton kicked up a real fuss about it and tried everything to warn me away as I was “one of the first users of Norton to use this file”. It didn’t actually delete it or anything though.
It’s just rather off-putting having that screaming in your face ~4 times before it finally gives up and lets you continue. Definitely more Symantec’s problem than yours though, game is great!
WS.Reputation.1 means that Norton Community Watch does not know the file. If you have not selected to join the Norton Community Watch Cloud, Norton does not give you the option of ignoring this warning and deletes the file.

This is still happening and no updates.
I had this same problem, all I did was disable the anti virus for about 15 minutes and then installed the game fine. Norton was deleting the game after I downloaded it without letting me know about it, cheeky!
i got norton 360 and he ask’s me what he need to do , when i click run the file and exclude then he leaves it alone…
