What you guys don’t seem to understand is I’m looking for an EXACT answer. Or atleast a little more precise then what everyone has been saying, which is pretty much that it might happen eventually.
I’m mainly asking the staff (Please, @Charlie ) in this thread.
If a user sticks around long enough to read a bit, Discourse now trusts them as a basic user.
They can get to trust level 1 by…
entering at least 5 topics
reading at least 30 posts
spend a total of 10 minutes reading posts
Source:
Looking at your user profile, though, I find it strange that you haven’t (or the Discourse system doesn’t think you have) done all that. You could try reading the community story? That should at least get you to 30 posts read.
Hmm…
I can see there that there should be “some” Leaders or Leader Users:
Leader (3)
Leaders are some of the most active and prolific contributors. They set the tone for everyone else and set an example in what actions they take, and the posts and replies they contribute.
They can get to trust level 3 by…
This is time based, unlike the previous levels. In the last 100 days…
must have visit at least 50% of days
must have started 5 topics that garnered 1 reply or more?
must have replied to 10 different topics?
must have gotten responses to their content?
ExplicitQuality = min(1.0,
contributionValue(LikesRecievedCnt) * LikesWeight +
contributionValue(BookmarksRecievedCnt) * BookmarksWeight +
contributionValue(FavoritesRecievedCnt) * FavoritesWeight +
contributionValue(RepliesCnt) * RepliesWeight +
contributionValue(AvgTopicRepliesCnt) * TopicRepliesWeight)
must have read stuff on the forum? (Defer?)
So I obviously have entered atleast 5 topics, and I just read 39 posts on the community thread, and I know that I had to have spent atleast 10mins reading posts… why am I still not promoted? D: @Charlie help!
@WaveJones I am a regular. I’ve been on atleast 1 hour every day I’ve been signed up. Also, seeing as how I’ve only been signed up for about 5 days, the stats you listed only furthers why I should be promoted.
I can’t send PM’s. I can’t reply to topics more than 3 times. I can’t post more than 3 links (that includes links in the preview post made when linking to another thread). I can’t post images.
This is extremely restricting and frustrating. Since I can’t post more than 3 times on the same topic that means I will have to either not reply to the ChannelTube topic (which I need to do for updates and responding to people’s questions) until I get promoted, which at this point seemingly won’t happen, or I have to keep creating a new thread. It also means that I can’t PM someone, so they have to PM me, and even then after I reply 3 times I have to make a spam post in another thread to attract their attention to create a new PM topic so I can continue replying.
You can see how all this is horribly annoying and frustrating, right?
Btw… I can’t PM you. PM me please.
@WaveJones
Strange that I can reply more than 3 times now. I can also post more than 2 links. Still can’t post images, or send PM’s (atleast I don’t see a button for it anywhere when on someone’s profile).
Not sure what changed.
Also, in that whole month his stats are only a little higher than mine, meaning I should be about 26x more active than him by the time I reach a month old. If it’s a whole month that you have to wait to be able to send PM’s and post images, then I can’t be on this forum anymore. That’s pretty ridiculous.
Level 0 is new user
Level 1 is basic user
Level 2 is regular user
Level 0 is very restricted
Level 1 removes the level 0 restrictions
Level 2 is the same as level 1, but you can also invite people to topics and start group PMs
@Darkly
I wasn’t confused about that o-o
I’m confused as to how you get promoted. Apparently they changed it from the default Discourse settings, because if they hadn’t I would have been promoted.
@DeathRight I just realized something when I read this topic, have you gotten a confirmation email, and clicked the link in it? If not, I think you can request one from your preferences page.
