@SnowyOwl I donā€™t want to become a leader, I want a useless argument topic to go away. Not really worth the argument so Iā€™ll just be general;
@Everyone if you want this thread to stay, then stop arguing and calling each other names. If you want this thread to close, then Iā€™d suggest flagging it instead of arguing with people until they stop arguing back.

Letā€™s get a few facts straight:

  1. Macs are PCā€™s. More accurately, they are IBM PC-Compatible Computers just like any other computer based on a PCI bus. The real difference is merely one of software, with a wide number of choices such as a well known proprietary OS family, a number of FOSS Unix derivatives, a fruity proprietary / FOSS hybrid Unix derivative, or quite a few others.

  2. Mac OS X is a Unix derivative. Specifically, it is a hybrid with a FOSS kernel (Darwin) based on BSD (a cousin to Linux) and a proprietary kernel working in tandem.

  3. Bans are incoming. Starting a flame war by accident is a bad thing to do, but fanning the flames is worse. Additionally, the behaviour of some members in this topic is not acceptable any day of the week.
