Hey, first thing. Great game, really like it and i fear i dump to mutch time into it! xD
My two Suggestions:
Allready mentioned by 2 others, i mention it again. GRID. I like the idear, it´s cool and nice! But i think it´s mutch empty space with that feature. It would be cool if you can really do something with GRID. At the moment it´s just a passiv income, but how about it´s own screen, and offers to other companies to distribute games, maybe even to become yourself a publisher in some way, like the real Steam got it´s Greenlight program, you got a GRID Bluelight programm for small and medium games, as example, and can accept or decline offers, that influences the fan´s of the GRID system too, generating more or less income etc… you know, just more. I think it´s a great feature and i would really like to see that it get´s expanded.
Second suggestion: Hardwarelab. At the moment it still feels a bit empty and can only produce consoles. But why not hardware components too, maybe like graphic cards, coolant systems and stuff like that. Thats part of modern gaming industry too, or not?
But even so, it´s a great game! Simple, funny and i could start over and over again to bite my teeth into another topicsection or get a bit more out of my company after 35 years! ^^
Two more suggestions: Savegame: I consider this as “vital” for any game, so it should be integrable as standard at some point. Obsolete Tech: let us get rid of some tech. Developing a textbased simulation with surround sound on the Nintendo Nuu AND getting average reviews of 5 feels… more then just wrong.
Last post remind me I forgot an important point in the interface design list well it’s a bit linked to gameplay too:
Free number of saves: I don’t understand well why there’s only one save per developer nor the mechanism behind the update of this save slot. But what’s sure is only 3 saves slots is awful stuff.
Something I would like to see is the ability for you to become a publisher once you create a console. Maybe you can find the next great indie game that way. It just seems like a natural progression that way.
didn’t feel like reading everything so it might have already been said
-Multi-topic.
-Name suggestions,I keep getting writers block with every name, engine, game ,company it leaves me sitting there for minutes.
-you shouldn’t wait for Y13M9 to get to office lvl 4,you didn’t have to wait to get to office lvl 2
-says what engine was used, and if you didn’t use a custom one, say default, or something else.
-Choose the starting year, and make mods instead of games in the beginning if start after mods have been invented
not sure if theres already been a reply or maybe u found out already but this is because of the Design and Tech Specialism (700 D / 700 T ) in the training tab it lowers the cost of ur R&D (design) and Lab (Tech)
hope this helps and if dual reply or if u found out already ignore me
i have one main idea tht might be increasing ur game making options by 50% instead of picking just one topic maybe implement around the same time as the Multi-genre upgrade/option add a Multi-Topic upgrade/option because i would love to pick for example a Military Zombie game instead of making the title Call of Duty Nazi Zombies wich is more of a mind pleaser to me but the ingame consumer of the game might just have another military game in its possession
*edit
i have another idea
maybe its something worth doing to get like an yearly feedback of the games u made when they exit the top 100 sales instead of shutting down its sales completely because irl i can still go to the store and pick up a game thts been out for a while longer then i expect the games in GDT ar or it might just be tht i dont get a good grasp of the time a game is for sale in GDT
