LD: Lucid Dream. A dream in which you know you are dreaming.
SP: Sleep Paralysis. A natural, safe part of the process. You will get SP every time you fall asleep, but you just don’t remember it. It’s dreaming with your eyes open, you will see hallucinations.
DILD: Dream Induced Lucid Dream. A technique in which you get lucidity by noticing dream signs (Light’s won’t work, your hands are messed up etc.).
WILD: Wake Induced Lucid Dream. A technique where you are still concious while you fall asleep (Can trigger SP).
MILD: Mnemonically Induced Lucid Dream. Telling yourself you will get lucid while you fall asleep, repeat until you fall asleep.
FILD: Finger Induced Lucid Dream. Achieving lucidity by moving your index finger and middle finger in a piano pattern.
WBTB: Wake-Back-To-Bed. Waking up after 4-6 hours of sleep and staying up for 20-50 minutes will increase the chance to Lucid Dream.
HILD: Hunger Induced Lucid Dream. A Lucid Dream based on hunger.
DC: Dream Character. A character other than yourself in a dream.
FA: False Awakening. You wake up in your bed, but it’s still a dream. (Happens to me often, I got SP because of this once).
i woke up from a monster eating me when i was young. i got up from my bed, went to my living room, but there was a black hole powered speaker. i got sucked into it, and flew into a void. then i woke up for real.
Well I have semi-lucid dream once. Does that count? A bit of a weird dream but in the dream I got lost and by will teleported back to where I was initially and I could use magic by will, but I couldn’t change the setting of the dream and what was happening. Anywayyyy. Ever since I got my new double bed and mattress I have been having extremely vivid dreams every night and some have come true.
Oh shit, that’s a real thing? I had that last night. I was pretending to play Bergentrückung on my keyboard and I fell asleep. Next thing I realize I’m in yet another lucid dream where I was walking down the road when goat aliens attack.
It’s a real thing. Just move your fingers in a piano pattern for 1 minute, but don’t count! If you count, you will stay awake. Just lie there and after ‘1 minute’ (1 Minute in your internal clock), you ‘wake up’. Try to push your finger through your hand, or grab your nose and try to breathe. If those 2 things work, you are in a dream.
In your dreams, you can push your fingers through your hand. So you need to ask yourself ‘Am I dreaming?’ throughout the day. Then you can try to push your fingers through your hand. If you’re lucky, that will become a routine and you will ask yourself ‘Am I dreaming?’ in your dream. So you can push your fingers through your hand and realize you’re dreaming.
