A) SteamDRM is actually worthless. It has been fully cracked to the point that even online-play is possible via piracy. The only “stall” in SteamDRM is that it prevents PC-games from getting released early. Unfortunately it is absurdly prevalent and, in many cases, required for online play. As a user and lover of steam, I still hate that developers tie their multiplayer to the steam servers.
B) “without DRM, everybody just downloads the game for free and doesn’t give a crap about the developers, they just care about how they got a game for free” <-- This is a complete load of crap. Lack of DRM does not cause piracy, it just eases piracy. Easy piracy is not a cause of stolen/pirated games, though. Neither does a difficult DRM make a game less likely to be pirated. DRM does nothing to prevent piracy, except in the cases of always-on DRM. Unfortunately, always-on DRM is an absolute pox upon the gaming industry.
