I give up...This game wins

So is there an anouncement coming or are you just buying time until you finde something to fix this? Right now I can not recommend this game to anyone though it was fun at the beginning…

And hopefully a slight tweak to the Topic/Genre table. Time Travel + RPG is not a strange combo (Chrono Trigger)

I think you stopped making engines. If you stick with one same engine without making a new one with new options , people think your game is out of date and is boring.

If you have troubles finishing the game go to this post :

It’ll surely help you.

New Engines are defenetly not the problem. I am also not doing to much of them ^^

I also tried cheating with the save game editor. But after that the game won’t start anymore. So I don’t think this save game will change anything about that. Maybe I will give it a try in August again. If not, than buying this piece will be something that German people call “Lehrgeld” ;).

Hi… Like you adviced I give it some time and want to try it again. Is the balance patch out already or should I give up hope this game will ever be good or playable for someone who won’t read tons of wiki pages or won’t use a calc while playing?

If you have enough patience and time and willing to take notes after every game, you will be able to reach the endgame succesfully.

Sadly the game is still a bit unforgiven towards new players and lacks a whole lot of proper feedback.
This worries me with the upcoming Steam release, because there will be a lot of people that will not enjoy the fact that the game just does not make sence every now and then.

I learned the game the hard way and polished my game by reading the wiki and now i keep notes and calculate, just to keep high quality games.
It should not be like that.

JayCheetah, I agree with your post. A game made today should not require taking notes, reading a wiki or any such thing. If such things are necessary, then they should be built right into the game itself. There is no way I would take paper and pen notes to try to win a game. That would suck the fun out and make it more like work!

I have a lot of patience and I love hard games (yes, I am talking to you silver surfer for the nes!), but I refuse to play the game if there is a wiki and p&p needed. If it would be to maximize the income and to really break one high score over another, I could accept it. But not like that.

If they don’t fix it befor the steam release this game will get crushed. No offense. It s great…but sometimes it really sucks.

I’m not sure if you tried it but when I’m in the second office I just make small games for a long time till I have enough money atleast a few mil. Then just hire two people so when I make the medium games I just assign the first set of categories to one person then the next set to the other and it should be 100% for each no matter what the sliders are set to.

If the medium games start to tank just fire your employes and go back to the small games if you have to just to keep making money till you can get to the third office considering the cost to run the place are pretty low with just the one guy it should be hard to lose even with bad games.

Btw when the ratings started to go low for you was that when you were making a large games?I ask because they are hard to make in the second office since you don’t really get enough people to use for each category till the third office so the employes get maxed out more.Speaking of that have you checked if they needed a vacation because they won’t do much if they need one?

Let me know if this stuff works for you.

I sent my people on vacations regularly and also tried with one employee and also with 4. And no, I started loosing money since the years 10-12. And I also waited till I got 10-15 million before buying new employees. Nothing worked and I never ever got the chance of making large games or going to the third office. Even though I think it looks pretty cool (saw it on pic). That’s also one thing that bothers me :-1:.

I would like to let you know if this stuff works for me, but I decided to never touch that game again until the balance patch is out and I also recommended that to my friends who saw me playing this game a while ago. And I will do so again when this game comes out for steam…

Don’t get me wrong, you do not need to have Pen & Paper and the Wiki to play a very entertaining game.
I use P&P to make top hits every single game ( or at least i try )

The Wiki however is sort of a manual that never was included with the game, and does not need to be studied for hours/days.
A quick read through and you should have plenty of information to avoid the most common mistakes, like Topic/Genre/Platform/Audience combo’s, which does have major effect wether your game is Awesome/Mediocre/Bad.

I suggest THIS one page to have a look at and you won’t have to feel bad about your game being spoiled by too much information and you will have a lot more to experiment yourself to polish your game.

The game is way too easy. You just need to do the same thing over and over again and whoila, stage 4 with loads of money and 100 million fans after a couple of years.

1: Add harder options.
2: More endgame options.

Thank you. There are hardcore players that actually get the game too. If the game as it is now is Normal difficulty then you could add Easy and Hard. Ty.

Just remember the small games are your money maker for a while.

Hopefully it does work for you I’m waiting till the Steam release to before I replay it too mostly just to see if there is new stuff.

Sure, it’s easy. It’s only easy if you use a wiki, which isn’t very much fun at all. That takes any sort of enjoyment you would have gotten out of the whole experience.
They know what they need to do to fix it. Here’s hoping that they actually do.

When you actually understand the game. Then It’s too easy.

Which Isn’t very hard at all if you play for 5-10 hours and use your brain. Then you can win every single time.

Well… This has nothing to do with “use your brain”. In which game it is not important to develop the sound or the grafics? The goal should be to always get the best of everything and not damper two to the benefit of one. And where the hell does the game give you the advice that you should use that more instead of the other if you choose a specific genere? I haven’t read any.

There isn’t a single Genre that requires to have sound or graphic slider all the way down
For some Genres one or both are considered neutral slider, which means that they can be in position as long as it does not violete a very important rule “having at least 2 important features on 40% or more”

The game does sometimes tells you in the reviews that for example the focus on the Engine was very good.
Allthough that’s a decent hint, there are still a few more ways to do it right or wrong.

Aren’t you the same guy that edited your save file to get more fans from the start? :octocat:

That was after beating the game 6 or 7 times I think. I like the game but when you get bored with it you try new options

I always go Tech path though. So maybe I should try out Design sometime. New area for me.
