If arcade and endless mode is “advanced scripting”, I think that proves my point :stuck_out_tongue: Game Maker might have been good once, but not anymore :I

For me it is, cause i really have no idea how to script in GMS. For me random object spawn point was advanced scripting (it was something like 5 lines of code tbh).
Endless mode and score counter added! Sadly though, score counter is nearly invisible, so i must make it bigger and i don’t know how.

New Version is done!
I added “survival” mode, where you play as immobilised base. To aim, use mouse.

In Godot, I think (dont take my word on it) you do rand_range(width, height) and that returns the random position.

In my game it looks like this:

    {
    var xx,yy;

    xx=random(room_width)
    yy=(y=1920)
    }
until place_empty(xx,yy);


instance_create(xx,yy,object0);
alarm[0]=0.5*room_speed

But this also ensures that there won’t be 2 asteroids on same spot.

I didn’t had time to make something better, this version was kinda rushed (Just like EA does). I also fixed 2 bugs.

Just so you know, you never change the randomization algorythm seed. And, ensuring that there are no other asteroids there is useless as the chance is sooo tiny, and if it happens, nobody would mind :stuck_out_tongue: I mean, asteroids can still spawn “inside eachother” (at least the texture)

It’s not the tool that makes the game, it’s the person using it. (to a degree of course).

You can always find gems among the rubble :slight_smile: The thing is, it hasn’t aged very well. It has yet to prove proper Linux support and (in my opinion) it runs badly. It would be easier to use Godot or something similar this day in age, as its both open-source and includes 2D shaders :stuck_out_tongue:
