When i add the update checker make sure you name the .zip GameDevTycoon and not something long like in this case “GameDevTycoonUpgrade0.1.0FinalBuild-Bugfixed-ArcadeModified.”. this will just make sure that it actually checks for the right file name otherwise you will have to change the directory every update
Also may i ask what is the name of your…
GitHub name
Name of the repo the mod i hosted on
and finally what is the branch called???
Oh, okay. I like adding all this things to the title because this way I know more specifically what version it is, but no problem, i will rename it on MediaFire and change the download links
@LineLiar is working on that for me, once he finish it I will send you all the information immediately
Great
Now the file’s name is GDT-UpgradeMod.zip, now, I will chage the download links everywhere
Cool, all this means that i wont have to change the directory in the code everytime
I’m thinking in creating a new mod with custom consoles, like Galactic Games mod, @iSenzo seems to be very exited with it. What do you think?
Yeah i would like to see that
Are you planing to continue with UltraGDT or will you expand your frontiers?
P.S: I will probably launch 0.2.0 and then work the custom consoles mod
Yes i released 0.2.0 to beta tester yesterday and i was gunna give it to the public today but a wasn’t able to get hold of @LineLiar so he could put it on GitHub, hopefully he can out it up tommorow
But after 0.2.0 and 0.3.0 (that I saw on mod page comments that you’re planing to launch) will you launch more updates or will create a new mod?
I will launch more updates (Why would i ditch a mod before i hit 1.0) I might eventually make a new mod and give the development over to someone else
I think that after 0.2.0 I will stop developing this mod for 1-2 months to dedicate myself to the consoles mod and this mod requires a lot of researching to get good ideas so it take a lot of my time. And of course, I want to expand my modding frontiers doing original things (like a mod for events)
I might do the same actually.
I will leave 1.0 for a while and make another mod
And when i have like 100+ suggestions i will make UltraGDT 1.0
(Yes, that is my goal for 1.0, 100+ stuff)
I have the same ideas, but with little less ambitious goal, 60-75 ideas for me it’s fine
But your mod has a lot more content, so for me a bigger update would be logical
Well, I have two tips for you one for ideas and other for developing
-
Research, search for gaming innovations (better an worst), the history of consoles, so you can ad more consoles
-
Find a co-developer that overlap your “weak point” as a modder, for example, i’m terrible with console images, so, I found @iSenzo that do the console images for me
Hmm. good ideas (I am thinking about having a co-developer i just don’t know who to pick)
And, I have one proposal to you
After we stop developing our mod for a while, why we don’t unite our forces (You, me, @iSenzo and maybe your co-developer) and make a mod together?
I know that I will have to do the custom consoles mod but @iSenzo is super excited about the mod and I don’t think that a custom consoles mod is VERY HARD, so, what you think?
