[ROLEPLAY] Game Dev Tycoon RP (Off-Topic)

So… how is it going?

Did you not read my previous post?[quote=“LineLiar, post:19, topic:8585”]
At first,we already have 3 appropriate sign-ups so you’re a bit too late.

At second,I need three console owners to start it off.

A computer is not a console and therefore doesn’t count

Okey so this is the off Rp thread then?

i am going to join in as soon as i have rested and started up the game.

So i am wondering about the lisence cost for the different Consoles you all have.

And as far as i understand i have 5 % which was the money ish from what i understood from the PM i sent the OP.

I think that stuff will be announced as soon as the official RP Thread starts.
This is the offtopic thread so yeah

I NEVER SAID SOMETHING ABOUT HISTORICAL ACCURACY! And if you like to break rules… this is not the place to be.

Yes, but what is all the deleted posts about?

Because LineLiar told me I couldn’t post PCs

Unfortunately the spots for all the starting console/hardware have been took. You can still join as a software/games manufacturer though, just post your company name and logo.

Okay
Lockness Software

Done! Now you can wheel and deal and develop games on the on-topic thread!

No need to be shy, the RP has officially started: On-topic/actual RP thread

Something to note is that video games in the late '80s and early '90s typically cost $45-$60, or more when they first came out (average was $50 for a new release). SNES games were typically $70-$80. The Playstation helped standardize compact discs, which are cheaper to manufacture than cartridges. Factor in inflation, and games have become significantly less expensive. @LineLiar and @apljee are underselling themselves on their games. I’m working on a post in the RP thread but I’m not sure if I should price my games realistically or cut them low for RP purposes?

I thought it was more so $40 for an average game and $50 for the higher demand games usually? Maybe could be $50/60…

Anyway, just go for realistic pricing, since the competitors of the era (and next) tried experimenting with various formats for the games in the form of peripherals and secondary formats (the Sega card for the sega master system, had lower memory but were cheaper). The realistic pricing might make experimenting with other formats in the RP more favourable.

How do you mean underselling my games? I don’t have any released yet.

I was referring to the price you listed with your launch title, Adventure Sands.

Oh lol… I totally forgot that. I will change it to 40$
