I think both would actually be an everyone game honestly. Game Dev I don’t see why young people into games wouldn’t like, and mature would like it too, and I can see some young people liking games such as Euro Truck Simulator or other transport games and also adults liking them too.
Mature usually implies adult themes of some kind - Game Dev and your typical transport game (Truck simulator comes to mind) don’t feature either. In other words “Everyone”
Mature also implies gore, violence, sexual content and other stuff. So… a game where you make game that makes game inside a game and a trucking simulator does not really feature that stuff…

Game Dev matches for Everyone, and just regular for Young.

Target Audience mean:
The content of a game is suitable for which kinda people.
Doesn’t mean which kinda people will play it.
Understand??
Young: This game was made specifically for young players in mind.
Everyone: This game was made to have a wide appeal.
Mature: This game includes mature content that makes it unsuitable for younger audiences (think MA15+ or R18).
Thus, Transport and Game Dev are great topics for Everyone, a little less suited for Young and not a good match for Mature.

What kind of transport simulator is aimed at mature audiences? Topless Cheerleader Bus Extreme for grPhone and grPad? And I’d ask the same for game dev, are you trying to make a hentai game sim?

That’s kind of generic, isn’t it? Just make a mature-rated fantasy-adventure called Slippery Tentacle Extravaganza, or a mature-rated romance-adventure called Assmasters. Make a mature-rated sports-simulation called Topless Volleyball. And if you meant a porn topic as in a “The Movies” style game based around skin flicks, just make a mature-rated movies-simulation called The Porns (that title sounds like a terrible medical condition, doesn’t it?)

Yes, apparently 4.4 million people in the Game Dev Tycoon universe really like ponies. Physically.
But that sort of plays into what I said in a different thread about making weird games to satisfy the niche market. Now that (surprisingly large) chunk of Horse-Drawn Games fans have their…interspecies, erotic date-simulator? And I managed to turn a profit on a mature-rated virtual pet game with an out-of-control budget.
Everyone wins, I guess?
Edit: I got bored and made the other joke game titles I mentioned. And one that @Teelo mentioned. I saved over my Horse-Drawn Games file with a new game, so I had to load up Dark Arts Studio, an old save from before the 1.4.2 update. This team is also specced for RPGs, but some of the simulations did surprisingly well.
(I still think this one sounds like a medical condition!)
What I’ve learned from all this is that some people like boobs (and volleyballs), some people like butts, some people like ponies, but everyone loves tentacles.
