The Future Of Greenheart Games

I love Game Dev Tycoon and your motto ‘Less social. Less ville. More game.’ Are you guys going to keep the focus on simulation games or are you looking at different genres? With future games do you plan on developing for Windows 8 first or are you planning to create multi-platform game releases? I really love GDT and your philosophy and I look forward to the future of Greenheart. I hope you keep your focus on simulation games as we desperately need more of them.

Glad our motto resonates with some

We have a couple of ideas for next projects but haven’t really had time to start them properly yet. It will be a while before we will be able to announce anything. The scope of the project will also depend on how well Game Dev Tycoon is doing. We are independent and rely solely on the income from our game. We hope that the release on Mac, Windows and Linux will boost our income so that we can develop the next game with confidence.

For now, all I can say is that the next game won’t be Game Dev Tycoon 2. I think it’s important to get some distance and branch out a bit before considering a sequel. We definitely plan to stick to our motto and hopefully players will support us by buying our games.

I can’t tell you yet what exact type of game we will do next. We want to experiment a bit but don’t expect a platformer or zombie shooter from us
I think whatever it will be, it’s highly likely that it will have elements of a Simulation game.

If you have a great idea for a Simulation/Tycoon game you would love to play let us know

I’ve always hoped to see a Tycoon style game based around Creating TV Shows, selecting different genres and trying to get deals with broadcasting networks for better time slots and seeing how long you can keep a show running for. I don’t know if it would be the kind of game you would want to create, but I like it mainly because of all the paths that could be taken. You could turn out as a big Anime studio or create huge saga series like Game of Thrones.

I’d kill to see this happen. There’s so few good tv studio sim games out there.

That would be pretty similar to Game Dev Tycoon actually and sounds pretty interesting. You could even do it like you start out as an author or so before becoming an International TV Station

try the movies - movie crating simulation game.

If you’re branching out, any other sort of ‘tycoon’ game, especially with similar mechanics, will be seen as mostly a re-skin, not really as branching out.

Have fun playing with ideas, and settle on something you would enjoy, and think others would enjoy as well.

Sounds like people got a demand for Green Heart Games now, TV Studio Tycoon… I say make it happen and you guys rank in the fans and profit depending how well you make it. It might be a bit bigger then Game Dev Tycoon considering that movies been around before video games, like somewhere i do believe around the 1880’s? That’s like 2 centuries old… and video games been around since 1960’s? Since After WW2 and the first arcade games like pac-man and donkey kong original?

Tech tycoon.

Games, consoles, phones, music players, laptops, PCs, hardware, software, and so on.

Or any type of tycoon really, but something as complex as this.
It’s nice to explain strategies with friends.

How about a Tycoon Game with a lot of dark humor and not so typical gameplay?

Scam Tycoon

Make your own scams and earn money without going to jail! Write Nigerian Scam Mails, let people invest into a Pyramid Scheme, sell useless crap as medicine, the list goes on. You can also bribe officials to add credibility to your scheme or maybe make up your own phony security label. Send your scammed money to offshore accounts and use it to buy ridiculously luxurious things. Then in the late game, found your own church and make yourself god-king of the world!

I don’t know how you guys see that, but I think Hilarity Ensues.

that sounds nice too

Movies and TV are Ok but I would like to see and Invention Sim where you create plans then choose material for example using metal would make something stronger as opposed to alum. you can create also crazy inventions Things that work like the ones in Back to the future where the professor feed his dog
The possibilities are endless and if you start out in the past the scope gets even bigger. I think it would be fun and I don’t think I have ever seen anything like it ever published

I want to see a war tactics/squad command sim. By that, i mean something like what Zhuge Liang or other tacticians from centuries ago would do. I have zero idea how the interface would be though. It certainly wouldn’t be a RTS (since there’s plenty of those out) but maybe something that could let you choose a bunch of tactics or set up a series of traps or plans to prepare for a battle such as setting up rock traps on a cliff and then sectioning off part of your army as a divisionary force to lead the enemy in. A simulation would then happen (kinda like the game reviewing section) and say how successful your tactics were. You could also have spies or informants who tip you off about enemy tacticians and what you can expect in order to prepare countermeasures against their tactics (such as preparing fire crews against a person known for using fire attacks)…this idea seems quite complex though.

I do know that if it’s another sim where you make a bunch of stuff or use a bunch of people, i want the ability to do custom names, it’s a nice touch to any sim game.

I love Tycoon games. So whatever it is, you’ve got my $8!

I find this game give a quirky inside look into game dev companies, a law simulator would be a fitting where you start up your own law firm and learn techniques which can increase your profitability.

I really think you should do some more tycoons since your so good at them

IMO, several things come to mind, but I’ll not press my ideas very hard:

More tycoon types of games that I think haven’t been looked at:
Mars Tycoon, research, develop and figure out where to put all the colonists.
RPG tycoon, which could be a satirical take (a la Munchkin) on the business economy inside a RPG world. The only game I’ve seen attempt this was Recettear, and it’s still a RPG.

Less tycoon and more along the lines of HTML5-able:
CYOA(Choose your own adventure) style novels that focus more on the story telling, and less on the micromanagement.
Or the opposite and go straight down Life/Dating-sim territory and make the choices entirely the result of math formulas (something the GDT engine does already.) Few people are doing these games in English markets… primarily because the people who want to do them feel they can write or draw but don’t want to learn to program.

I’d probably suggest, researching what kind of games are popular on newgrounds and what the inspiration for those games were. Some of those games are one-shot types that could be better if there was more substance to it… or was less offensive.

Some recommendations would be a movie director tycoon, tv show tycoon or music tycoon or something along those lines.
